Talking head Ann Coulter called the US election in 2015. Appearing on Bill Maher’s show, Ann Coulter claimed Donald Trump was the strongest Republican candidate to win the election. The liberal audience was quick to laugh and jeer at the conservative pundit, but they wouldn’t be laughing for long. In retrospect, Coulter now appears prescient and the audience looks smug and complacent. Perhaps this complacency was a factor in Clinton’s humiliation at the hands of a meat-headed blowhard. Lizza Littlewort’s ‘We Live In The Past’

On Wednesday, Cape Town’s 99 Loop gallery opened its doors for the first day of Lizza Littlewort’s ‘We Live In The Past’ exhibition. The artist aims to draw out South Africa’s colonial past, as found in the ‘Golden Age’ of Dutch painting, but reinvents this work to convey the legacy to contemporary eyes. As an illustrator, Ms. Littlewort previously produced educational works on such topics as healthcare and the environment. She helped set up a permaculture project called ‘Tyisa Nabanye’, a collective that aims to promote food security and sustainable living. A White Problem

One of the major flaws of political correctness and multiculturalism has been the way in which it has subsumed questions of ‘race’ under the euphemistic umbrella of ‘culture’. This shift in language correlates with the disavowal of the race problem. Culturalisation of discourse has amounted to depoliticisation.
